Blank Canvas – By the Fire

This was an interesting one to film, as it’s quite different from any videos we’ve made so far. We chose to do a lot more with effects and layering, as well as play about with the lighting.

We chose to only feature the band in the video, to give off more of a kind of surreal, dreamy sense. Especially towards the end as the song climaxes, the layering also combines with the shaky camera use to really match the nature of the song at that point. There’s also a point at which we introduce a background shot of trees being filmed while driving along a road, in time to the lyrics “I came so far, so far to you”.
