Quintana Films is hot out the womb and raring to go.

July 13, 2011

Hello!

So in the last couple days, we’ve launched the company and this site right here (including its offspring; the Facebook and Twitter pages). Thanks so much for checking in to see what’s up and following us right from the very start, that’s very kind of you.

As you can see from the Films page, we’ve already made a few music videos for the inexplicably talented Edinburgh band Discopolis. Hopefully over the coming months we’ll be making a lot more music videos, with a couple new ones already planned. Last month we filmed and documented Discopolis and fellow Edinburgers Blank Canvas’s co-headline gig at the Wee Red Bar, and let’s just say our tongues were firmly in our cheeks when we made it, and it’s in production as I type.

We’re currently working on a short film, set in Edinburgh and the surrounding suburbs (if you watch the below video, you might be able to spot some minor preview shots). You might have the impression so far that we’re solely Edinburgh based, but we’re planning to work all around Scotland (and beyond if feasible). If the project’s worth it, we’ll go wherever we need to be.

You’ll get to see the documentary in the next week or so, and the short film should hopefully be finished by August. But in the meantime, you can give our current videos a watch, and we’ll be keeping all you good people updated on our progress and plans, be they spontaneous or meticulously planned out to the finest decimel of Pi.

Also, we’re very keen to get working with brand new people on brand new ideas. After all, what’s the point of running a film company if we don’t get involved with all the other very great things happening out there in Scotland’s arts scene?

If you’re in a band and you want a music video for your songs or one of your gigs filmed, get in touch. If you’re a budding writer/filmmaker and want to work with us on anything you’ve in mind or whatever we’re doing, get in touch. If you just want to drop us a line with anything word-related, get in touch.

We’re really looking forward to this!

QF out.
